Atlanta & West Point #202, an 0-6-0, was captured on film by the great John Allen on September 15, 1939 at 9:35am in Montgomery, Alabama. You can almost feel the humidity of the Indian Summer and smell the aroma of coal smoke in the air.

The Talbotton Railroad was a storied Georgia shortline that sported several steam engines. This Baldwin 4-6-0, #403 posed at Talbotton, GA, in September, 1955 for Mal Hope Ferrell. The engine is ex-Sylvania Central #103.

Central of Georgia #301 was a fairly unusual 2-6-4t. We don't know where this pic was taken, or by whom, but she sure is a pretty gal.

John Allen provides a bird's eye view of a sparkling 4-6-0, #273. This Atlanta shot was taken on May 20, 1935. Note the Fruit Growers Express boxcars in the background.

Savannah & Atlanta #500 was a 2-8-0 built in 1919 by Baldwin. She is seen here lurking around Savannah in May, 1948. Photographer unknown.

Atlanta & St. Andrews Bay #402, a 4-6-2, was built by the Alco Richmond works in 1920. She was photographed here in Panama City, FL, by Harold Vollrath in April, 1948. Ok, so the Bay Line never made it to Atlanta, at least it was on the letterhead!
